L'Operacion Puerto potrebbe ancora riservare sorprese: dalle carte emergerebbero ulteriori 49 corridori. Hamilton e Jaksche, niente Giro d'Italia
MADRID, 30 aprile 2007 - l mondo del ciclismo è scosso da scariche ad altissima tensione. L’Operacion Puerto pare non sia ancora chiusa. O forse, con l’archiviazione del 12 marzo, se n’era chiusa solo una parte. Fino a sabato si pensava che ci fosse un unico dossier di circa 500 pagine. Invece prende sempre più corpo l’ipotesi che ci sia un nuovo fascicolo dell’autorità giudiziaria spagnola. Un dossier che sarebbe composto da alcune migliaia di pagine, si dice 6000.
BIG - In questi nuovi documenti ci sarebbero i nomi di 49 ciclisti, alcuni sembra molto importanti, di varia nazionalità, che si aggiungerebbero ai 58 già identificati. In totale 107 corridori. L’informazione giudiziaria di 39 pagine del 27 giugno 2006 è di fatto un riassunto della prima tranche dell’inchiesta e riguarda corridori che avrebbero dovuto partecipare al Tour de France 2006. Ma molte delle 223 sacche di sangue sequestrate dalla Guardia Civil aspettano ancora una paternità.
REBUS - Gli inquirenti di Madrid avevano associato il numero 1 a Ullrich, il 2 a Basso, il 4 a Botero, il 5 a Sevilla, il 7 a Unai Osa, l’8 ad Aitor Osa, l’11 ad Hamilton, il 12 a Gutierrez Cataluña, il 14 a Heras, il 19 a Zaballa, il 20 a Jaksche. Sia Hamilton sia Jaksche non parteciperanno al Giro: la loro squadra, la Tinkoff, li sospenderà in attesa di chiarimenti. Ma ci sono altri rebus da risolvere: 9-Urko; 10-Rosa; 15-Cesar; 17-Goku; 24-Clasicomano (Luigi); 25-amigo de Birillo; 26-Huerta; 33-Clasicomano. Poi altri soprannomi finora senza identità: Guri, Azul Huri, Milan. Il rapporto parlava anche dei rapporti di amicizia e collaborazione tra Eufemiano Fuentes e Luigi Cecchini. Rapporti smentiti dal medico lucchese, ma parzialmente confermati dal ginecologo canario: «Il "Cecco" è un amico». Sabato, a Liegi, c’è stata una lunga riunione delle 17 squadre ProTour aderenti all’Ipct. Si è parlato anche del nuovo dossier? Il presidente Lefevere, per le spiegazioni, ha dato appuntamento a venerdì. Gli schieramenti sono due. Da una parte, tedeschi su tutti, i team per la linea dura. Dall’altra, chi punta a chiudere la faccenda: soprattutto le squadre spagnole che, forti della giurisdizione nazionale, allontanano l’ipotesi-test del Dna.
BASSO - L’impressione è che il nuovo dossier sia già nelle mani dei legali dell’Uci. Che, d’altronde, sta seguendo con attenzione le posizioni già aperte, quella di Ivan Basso su tutte. Mercoledì il varesino e Scarponi saranno ascoltati dalla Procura antidoping Coni nella giornata-clou dell’indagine. Intanto Basso, che corre per l’americana Discovery Channel, è diventato un caso negli Stati Uniti. Le accuse di doping-ematico hanno portato il «New York Times» a dedicargli un ampio servizio: il giornale lo paragona a Landis, vincitore detronizzato del Tour 2006.

* Ivan Basso – Basso's contract with CSC was terminated by mutual agreement on October 18 2006.[36] On October 27 2006 the case was dropped by the Federazione Ciclistica Italiana due to lack of evidence,[37] and he was then employed in December 2006 by Discovery Channel.[38] On April 24th 2007 Basso was suspended by Team Discovery Channel when the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) reopened his case. On 1 May 2007 Basso requested to be released from his Team Discovery Channel contract. This was granted.[39]. Basso attended a hearing on May 2nd,[40] and on May 7th 2007, admitted that he was Birillo.[4] Basso was suspended on May 16th 2007.[31]
